Direct speech and Indirect speech

Direct speech 

वह है जो कोई व्यक्ति स्वयं अपने शब्दो मे कहता है।

जैसे: Radha said ,"I am very busy now"
इस कथन में Radha द्वारा की गयी बात Radha के शब्दो मे है।


Indirect speech 

वह है जब हुम किसी अन्य व्यक्ति की बात अपने शब्दो मे बताते हैं।
जैसे: Radha said that she was very busy then.

इस कथन मे हमने Radha द्वारा कही हुई बात अपने शब्दो में बताई है। इसलिये इसको indirect या reported speech भी कहते हैं। Direct speech से indirect speech में बदलने के लिये कुच्छ नियम होते हैं , जो निम्नलिखित उदहारण के माध्यम से समझाया गया है।


For example:

Direct speech : Radha said ,"I am very busy now"
Indirect speech : Radha said that she was very busy then.

Direct speech से indirect speech में बदलने के लिये इस उदहारण मे निम्नलिखित बदलाव किये गये है।

 1. Punctuation marks अर्थात विराम चिह्न (comma, quotation marks etc) इन सबको हटा दिया जाता है।

2.conjuction "that" का प्रयोग किया जाता है।

3. Pronoun को भी बदल दिया जाता हैं ( eg. I changed to she)

4 Verb 'am' को बदल कर 'was ' लगा दिया जाता है।

5.Adverb 'now' भी बदल कर 'then' गया।
